Artist Statement

As a Canadian visual artist, my creative journey has always been rooted in curiosity, play, and the pure joy of creating. With a background in both fine art and design, I’ve developed a practice that flows seamlessly between traditional techniques such as acrylic painting, illustration and digital design.

Recently my process is deeply informed by movement, rhythm, and emotional resonance often contrasted by resistance. I’m fascinated by the parallels between art-making and the ever-shifting energy of the stock market—both driven by instinct, momentum, and the delicate tension between control and unpredictability and between energy and resistance. My work exists in that space of creativity, where spontaneity and emotion generate a visual rhythm.

Whether I’m building up digital layers or working through a physical painting, I’m driven by a desire to capture the vibrancy and motion of my subject matter. I’m also obsessed with pattern recognition—an influence drawn from everything from video games to market charts. My creative process seeks to pull moments of order from chaos, inviting the viewer to engage in that same act of discovery.

In addition to my artistic pursuits, I’ve also had the privilege of being an art educator, sharing my knowledge and passion with others. I’m dedicated to helping others unlock their own creative potential, and I find joy in watching their growth. My enthusiasm for art is something I love to pass on, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see others embrace their creativity.

Overall, I strive to create art that is not only visually striking but also stirs emotion. My commitment to my craft and to inspiring others through education makes me proud to be a part of the vibrant art community here on Prince Edward Island.
